Most urgent decisions are not. A short test for telling the difference.
Most decisions presented as urgent are not. A useful test: what is lost, specifically, if this waits a year? If the answer is a number, decide now. If the answer is a feeling, wait, and use the year to find out more. The decisions that cannot wait are usually the ones nobody has put on the agenda.
